After working together on the “Tempus Fugit” watch in 2021, Dominique Renaud, a well-respected watchmaker who has worked on complications for many brands, and Julien Tixier, with a holistic approach to watchmaking, launched a new independent watch brand called Renaud Tixier. This week, they are launching the brand’s first watch, the Monday, which has an automatic movement with a micro-rotor. The micro-rotor is a small, less visible winding mechanism than a traditional rotor. The watch is innovative because it uses a redesigned micro-rotor. They are difficult to design well because they are less efficient than conventional rotors. The Renaud Tixier Monday uses a “dancer” micro-rotor, which is supposed to be more efficient. The Monday is made of 18k rose or white gold and has a diameter of 40.8 mm.
