Last year, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Fifty Fathoms, Blancpain released the limited edition “Act I,” a 42mm stainless steel take on its iconic diver watch. Blancpain announced the reference 5010 line, a new 42mm by 14.3mm Fifty Fathoms now in Grade 23 titanium (purer than the typical titanium alloys used in watchmaking, according to Blancpain) and 18k red gold in two different dial colors, blue and black. You can also choose between color straps in sail-canvas, NATO, or a tropic textured rubber inspired by the 1953 model. Only the titanium version has a bracelet option for an extra $2,700. You get the applied and lumed Arabic numerals on the sunburst dial, with arrow hour markers and a minute track around the outside. The uni-directional 120-click sapphire dive bezel has colors to match the dial. The caliber 1315 automatic movement, found in the 45 mm model, with 120 hours of power reserve, is visible through the sapphire back. The price ranges from $16,600 (Titanium on Strap with Pin Buckle) to $34,300 (Gold on deployant)
