Jaeger-LeCoultre Duometre Chronograph Moon

In 2007, Jaeger-LeCoultre revolutionized watchmaking with the Duometre collection. This groundbreaking timepiece featured separate barrels and gear trains, ensuring supreme accuracy by dedicating one system to timekeeping and another to powering complications.

This year, Jaeger-LeCoultre is adding three new Duometre to the collection. Here, we are looking at the Duometre Chronograph Moon. It comes in platinum with a copper dial or rose gold with a silver opaline dial. This timepiece is powered by the new Caliber 391, which combines a monopusher chronograph, moon phase, day-night indicator, and 1/6th-second counter. While independent barrels and springs drive the timekeeping and complications, they work together within a single caliber and escapement. JLC’s Calibre 391 is showcased through the open-worked sections of the dial and entirely visible via the sapphire caseback. This strategic choice, they claim, facilitates the assembly process.
