TUDOR introduced the first Pelagos FXD at the end of 2021. It was designed for underwater navigation and buddy diving with Commando Hubert, a French naval special forces unit. Since then, the FXD has been a platform for chronographs for sailing, cycling, and more.
Today, TUDOR is introducing a GMT version of the FXD, which was developed in collaboration with the air branch of the Marine Nationale (French Navy), Aéronautique Navale.
The TUDOR Pelagos FXD GMT Zulu Time’s 42mm Grade 2 titanium case, with its 12.7mm thickness and 52mm lug-to-lug, retains the design of the original FXD. The matte black dial features faux-vintage, vanilla-tone block markers indices with blue lume, “snowflake” hands, a contrasting orange GMT hand with green lume, and red accents for the brand name. The watch features a titanium bezel with a ceramic bi-directional luminescent 24-hour scale.
The solid case back is engraved with the anchor symbol of Aéronautique Navale and the year of production, similar to the Pelagos FXD and a homage to the iconic military Tudors of the 1970s and 1980s. Watches produced in 2024 will feature the engraving “M.N.24,” signifying “Marine Nationale.”
Concealed behind that case, the METAS-certified manufacture Calibre MT5652-U powers this watch with 65 hours of power reserve and an independent jumping hour GMT hand.
The watch has a green fabric strap and a titanium buckle. It features a removable keeper with the French Naval Aviation roundel.
